Than married to Khim Tav in 1978. He has 6 children. His father died in 1972. His mother called Tho Hiek died because of sickness. Than has 7 siblings, but one of them died. In the Khmer Rouge regime, she was lacking of food, water, medical care, and shelter. She was brainwashed. She was forced to separate from her family members. She has suffocated since the last 10 years. Recently, she has recurrent thoughts of the most hurtful events. She feels as though the event is happening again. She is unable to feel emotions.
ថនរៀបការជាមួយ ខឹម ថាវនៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧៨។ គាត់មានកូន៦នាក់។ ឪពុករបស់គាត់ស្លាប់នៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧២។ ម្ដាយឈ្មោះ ធោ ហៀកស្លាប់ដោយសារជំងឺ។ ថនមានបងប្អូន៧នាក់ ប៉ុនែ្ដម្នាក់ស្លាប់។ នៅសម័យខែ្មរក្រហម គាត់ខ្វះខាត ម្ហូបអាហារ ថ្នាំព្យាបាល និងជម្រកស្នាក់នៅ។ គាត់ត្រូវគេអប់រំអោយផ្លាស់ប្ដូរគំនិត។ គាត់ត្រូវខែ្មរក្រហមបំបែកចេញពីគ្រួសារដោយបង្ខំ។ គាត់មានអាការៈថប់ដង្ហើមរយៈពេល១០ឆ្នាំហើយ។ បច្ចុប្បន្ន គាត់ចេះតែធើ្វឱ្យនឹកឃើញជារឿយៗដល់ហេតុការណ៍គួរអោយភ័យខ្លាចបំផុតរបស់គាត់។ គាត់គិតថាហាក់ដូចជាហេតុការណ៍ទាំងនោះកំពុងតែកើតឡើងជាថ្មីម្ដងទៀត។ គាត់ពុំអាចនឹងមានអារម្មណ៍អ្វីសោះ។
