In 1972, Lay, working in Battalion 410, Northern zone, and Hoeung indoctrinated Meas Bunthan aka Mei to join the White Khmer. After that time, Lay assigned people living in Krauch village, Prey Chhor district to transport husked rice, rice, pigs, and cows into the enemy region. Until 1973, Lay and Hoeung appointed Meas Bunthan as member of the Worker Party.
នៅឆ្នាំ ១៩៧២ ឈ្មោះ ឡាយ វរសេនាតូច ៤១០ ភូមិភាគឧត្ដរ និងឈ្មោះ ហឿង បានអប់រំឈ្មោះ មាស ប៊ុនថន ហៅ ម៉ី ឱ្យចូល ខ្មែរសេរី។ ក្រោយមក ឡាយ បានណែនាំឱ្យ មាស ប៊ុនថន បំផុស ប្រជាជននៅភូមិក្រូច ស្រុកព្រៃឈរ ឱ្យដឹកស្រូវ អង្ករ ជ្រូក គោ ចូលតំបន់ខ្មាំង។ លុះដល់ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៣ ឡាយ និង ហឿង បានបញ្ចូល មាស ប៊ុនថន ជាសមាជិកបក្សពលករ។
