In Kanh Chhor Village, Kanh Chhor Commune, Chhlong District, Kratie Province, there was a prison which belonged to the district and region. Thousands of people were imprisoned there, and I witnessed prisoners being ill-treated and tortured. My father and other village people were detained there and they later survived the regime. The perpetrators have also survived.
If [you] want to know more details than the information mentioned above, [you] can ask either the prisoners who have survived or the perpetrators who have survived and are still living. I witnessed the torture, killing, threats, starvation, overwork, digging of the soil and canals, and building dikes, etc. In late 1974, Sim Slaimann, a person who maintained the list of people under arrest, called upon my father and other village people and ordered them to walk the arrested people to the prison. (Sim Slaimann currently serves as the First Secretary of Prek Samann Commune, and Mann Raloh currently serves as a chief of Chheu Teal Phluos Village.) More than a year later, between 1975 and 1976, village people were evacuated from one village to another. The victims at the time were: 1) Sim Ysa, 2) Le Tuloh, an elderly clerk named Tae Ly, and other people who are currently living in Chheu Teal Phluos Village, Preak Samann Commune, Chhlong District, Kratie Province. |
