In 1972, Pen Han volunteered to join the Khmer Communist movement at Chheu Chrong village, Haong Samnorn sub-district, Phnom Sruoch district. There, Ta Kem was a commander in battalion 138, Phourn was a commander in battalion 135 but economic chief was unknown. Battalion 320 was all female soldiers whose commander was Mith Neary Hean. Battalion 138 lay permanently in the west of Chheu Chrong village about 1Km, near Stung Trang bank. Other were closed to this battalion as well enemy did not separate their battalions. Pen Han defected to the nation army at Kirirum military unit on 25 April 1974.
ឆ្នាំ១៩៧២ ប៉ែន ហន បានស្ម័គ្រចិត្ដចូលបម្រើចលនាខ្មែរ កុម្មុយនិស្ដនៅភូមិឈើជ្រុង ឃុំហោងសំណំ ស្រុកភ្នំស្រួច។ នៅទីនេះមានមេបញ្ជាការកងវរសេនាតូចលេខ១៣៨ឈ្មោះ តាខឹម ឯកងវរ១៣៥ មេបញ្ជាការឈ្មោះ ភួន មេសេដ្ឋកិច្ចពុំស្គាល់។ ចំពោះកងវរលេខ៣២០សុទ្ធតែនារីជាទ័ពស្រី មានមេបញ្ជាការ មិត្ដនារីហាន ចំពោះទីតាំងរបស់កង១៣៨ស្ថិតនៅជាអចិន្ដ្រៃយ៍ ខាងលិចភូមិឈើជ្រុងប្រហែល១គីឡូម៉ែត្រ ក្បែរមាត់ស្ទឹងត្រង់ និងកងវរៈដទៃទៀតក៏នៅជាប់គ្នាដែរ គឺពួកខ្មាំងដាក់មិនឱ្យបែកគ្នាទេ។ នៅថ្ងៃទី២៥ មេសា ១៩៧៤ ប៉ែន ហន ក៏បានវិលមកចុះចូល ជាមួយកងទ័ពជាតិនៅកងសឹកគីរីរម្យ។
