The group of five, including the youth Ra, journeyed towards the area occupied by rebels in Takeo province, and they had two handguns with them. Sok and Chan were carrying the handguns, which they hid in their backpacks. The group of five decided that they would meet once every two weeks at the residence of a Chinese man known as Try, situated to the north of Wat Champa.
