Killing
In late 1975 and early 1976, after being ordered to attend a meeting held in an unknown place, my uncles, Chieb Iet and Chieb Lao, 17 April people, were taken to be killed in Chanmah village, unknown commune, Prasat Sambour district, Kampong Thom province. The people who came to arrest them were security police who worked in Thmakk village, Salavisay commune, Kampong Svay district, Kampong Thom province. My uncles were killed because of accusations that they were 17 April people and Lon Nol soldiers. The identities of the security police who came to arrest my uncles remain unknown to me. |

During the rainy and transplanting seasons, after the Pol Pot-led Khmer Rouge came to power in 1975, my two brothers—Y Uot and Y Oeun— were forcibly enlisted as Khmer Rouge soldiers by a village chief named Yey Im, who told them to fight against the Yuons [the Vietnamese]. During this period, they left Khmass village, Salavisay commune, Kampong Svay district, Kampong Thom province and went (I suspect) to the Russei military training school, located in Russei Daun village, Salavisay commune, Kampong Sva district, Kampong Thom province. They both have been missing since the moment they left us. I do not know why they forced them to enlist as soldiers. |
