Kheng Rut, a hostage who was apprehended at village Chreas Thmey by special cammondo 668, was a deputy commander in squad 2, platoon 1, battalion 82, regiment 2, positioned at region 35, zone 304. The battalion had 350 soldiers and officers, equipped with various weapons. Its duty was to reverse the national army from approaching its area only. According to the source, said that American hostage and foreign journalists were never seen except khmer. the army were tired of living in forest and wanted to have enough freedom.
ឈ្លើយសឹកឈ្មោះ ខេង រុត ជាអនុមេបញ្ជាការក្រុមលេខ២ កងអនុសេនាតូចលេខ១ នៃកងអនុសេនាធំ២ កងវរសេនាតូច៨២ ប្រចាំតំបន់៣៥ ភូមិភាគ៣០៤ ហើយត្រូវបានចាប់ខ្លួននៅភូមិជ្រាសថ្មី ដោយកម្មង់ដូពិសេសលេខ៦៦៨។ នៅក្នុងកងវរសេនាតូចមានទាហាន និងនាយទាហាន៣៥០នាក់ ប្រដាប់ដោយអាវុធគ្រប់ធុន។ កងនេះ មានភារៈកិច្ចត្រៀមចាំការពារមិនឱ្យកងទ័ពជាតិឡើងទៅតំបន់វាកាន់កាប់ ប៉ុណ្ណោះ។ តាមប្រភពៈ មិនដែលឃើញឈ្លើយសឹកអាមេរិកកាំង និងអ្នកកាសែតបរទេសទេ គឺធ្លាប់ឃើញតែឈ្លើយខ្មែរដូចគ្នា។ ពួកយុទ្ធជនខ្មាំងមានការធុនទ្រាន់ការនៅក្នុងព្រៃ ចង់បានសេរីភាព គ្រប់គ្រាន់។
