A source said on May 22, 1973, about 5000 Khmer rebels, equipped with AK47 and Chinese machine guns, left Stung Treng to Kratie and continued their trip by boats to Peam Te village at XU 122-760 in Kratie district. The source added that they would travel by boats to attack Phnom Penh in the near future.
