In 1978, a village chief named Khon instructed my husband, Long Choeng, to go into the forest and cut down trees for wood, which was used to build a cooperative. At the time, my husband lived in Vorl village, Damei Slap commune, Kampong Svay district, Kampong Thom province. About half a month [later], my cousin, Siek, came to my house, at which point I asked him where my husband was. Siek told me that Khon had killed my husband. After Khon accused my husband of stealing rice, he beat my husband to death in Khnay forest, located in an unknown village and commune of Kampong Svay district, Kampong Thom province. |
