Moeun Saroeun served Khmer communist movement as a militiaman in Battambang district, region 4, Battambang province. On October 31, 1974, he defected to our military authority at military check point in Kampoung village, Kok Khmom sub-district, Battambang district, Battambang province. In the militia unit, there were 30 militiamen, under the command of comrade Tho.
មឿន សារឿន បានបម្រើអោយចលនាខ្មែរកុម្មុយនីស្ដក្នុងឋានៈជាកង ឈ្លបស្រុកបាត់ដំបង លេខ៤៣, តំបន់៤ ខេត្ដបាត់ដំបង។ នៅថ្ងៃទី៣១ខែតុលា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៤ ជននេះបានចូលមករួបរួមក្នុងសង្គមវិញជាមួយ កងទ័ពជាតិយើងនៅប៉ុស្ដិ៍យោធា ភូមិកំពូង ក្នុងសង្កាត់កោកឃ្មំ, ស្រុកបាត់ដំបង, ខេត្ដបាត់ដំបង។ ជននេះមានកម្លាំងទាំងអស់៣០នាក់ ក្រោមបញ្ជាការឈ្មោះ ថត។
