On March 18, 1970, Kim Hou served Khmer communist movement as a Khmer Viet Cong soldier. In 1971, he was a combatant in Svay Rieng district military unit, and in 1972, he was the deputy chief of the section Kh-2 of spy unit in region 23. He returned to join the society in Tuol Trabek village in Svay Rieng province.
គឹម ហ៊ូ បានចូលបម្រើចលនាខ្មែរកុម្មុយនីស្ដនៅថ្ងៃទី១៨ ខែមីនា ឆ្នាំ ១៩៧០។ នៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧០ ជាយុទ្ធជនខ្មែរយៀកកុង។ នៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧១ ជាយុទ្ធជនក្នុងអង្គភាពទ័ពស្រុកស្វាយរៀង។ នៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧២ ជាអនុប្រធានខ-២ ក្នុងអង្គភាពស៊ើបការណ៍ប្រចាំតំបន់២៣។ ជននេះបានចូលមករួបរួមក្នុងសង្គមជាតិវិញ នៅភូមិទួលត្របែក ក្នុងខេត្ដស្វាយ រៀង។
