On March 11, 1970, Chim served Khmer communist movement as a combatant in a military unit in Lvea village, Chambok sub-district, Svay Rieng district. In 1972, he was a political chief in the region 23 in military unit, which was located in Kok Sramar village, Svay Rieng province.
ជឹម បានចូលបម្រើចលនាខ្មែរកុម្មុយនីស្ដនៅថ្ងៃទី១១ ខែមីនា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧០ ជាយុទ្ធជនក្នុងអង្គភាពទ័ពស្រុកស្វាយរៀង, សង្កាត់ចំបក, ភូមិល្វា។ នៅក្នុងឆ្នាំ១៩៧២ ជាប្រធាននយោបាយក្នុងអង្គភាពទ័ព តំបន់២៣ ដែលមានទីតាំងនៅក្នុងភូមិគោកស្រមរ ខេត្ដស្វាយរៀង។
