A source reported that on November 10, 1971, about 60 Khmer Viet Cong armed forces deployed along National Road 2 and in Kal Khsach village at VT:638-835, Sangkat Kong Noy, and Krang Kor village at VT:638-856, Sangkat Preah Puth, Kandal Stung district to cross National Road 2 in order to amush the National Army position in state own Glass Manufacturer in Sangkat Chaeng Ek, Dangkao district, and watch the activities of National Security Forces along National Toad 2 then took a chance to cut off Wat Pratheat bridge in Kandal Stung district.
ប្រភពបានផ្ដល់មកថា កាលពីថ្ងៃទី១០ ខែវិចិ្ឆកា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧១ ពួកខ្មែរយៀកកុងចំនួនប្រមាណ៦០នាក់ ប្រដាប់ដោយអាវុធគ្រប់ដៃរាយគ្នាតាមផ្លូវជាតិលេខ២ និងនៅតាមភូមិកល់ខ្សាច់ ត្រង់ចំណុចវ៉េតេៈ៦៣៨-៨៣៥ សង្កាត់គង់នយ និងភូមិត្រាំងគវ៉េតេៈ៦៣៨-៨៥៦ សង្កាត់ព្រះពុទ្ធ ស្រុកកណ្ដាលស្ទឹង។ ប្រភពបន្ថែមទៀតថា ពួកខ្មែរយៀកកុងនេះមានបំណងឆ្លងកាត់ផ្លូវជាតិលេខ២ ដើម្បីចូលទៅវាយឆ្មក់ទីតាំងទ័ពជាតិនៅរោងចក្ររដ្ឋធើ្វកែវ នៅសង្កាត់ជើងឯក ស្រុកដង្កោ និងឃ្លាំមើលសកម្មភាពកងការពារជាតិនៅតាមផ្លូវជាតិលេខ២ និងឆ្លៀតឱកាសវាយផ្ដាច់ស្ពានវត្ដប្រធាតុ ស្រុកកណ្ដាលសឹ្ទង។
