On March 10, 1972, 300 Khmer Viet Cong soldiers in Unit 101, under the command of Thei Ken, a former teacher in Kampuchea Bot private school, Phnom Penh deployed at VT 653-566 in a forest which was about 700m to the North on Ang Ton Loap pagoda in Prey Nheat sub-district, Kong Pisey district, Kampong Speu province.
