Yan Boeun was forced by the enemies to join in their struggling movement in May 1974 as a combatant in regiment 124, region 22. In March 1975, he was assigned to get things prepared readily for arising actions in Prek Leap village. As he was seriously sick, he was sent to stay in hospital in Chrey village. He was later arrested in by guards while he was getting lost and walking into a barrack.
យ៉ាន ប៊េឿន ត្រូវបានពួកខ្មាំងបង្ខំឱ្យចូលទៅបម្រើចលនារបស់វាពី ខែឧសភា ១៩៧៤ មាននាទីជាយុទ្ធជននៅកងវរសេនាធំ១២៤ តំបន់២២។ ខែមីនា ១៩៧៥ ត្រូវបានចាត់តាំងឱ្យត្រៀមនៅភូមិ ព្រែកលាប។ ពេលនោះសាម៉ីខ្លួនឈឺខ្លាំងពេទ្យក៏ឱ្យមកសម្រាក នៅភូមិជ្រៃហើយបានដើរវងេ្វងផ្លូ្វវចូលក្នុងបន្ទាយទាហាន អ្នយាមឃើញក៏ចាប់ខ្លួន។
