On August-17-1973, Khmer Rebels forcibly gathered people living around the slope of Kou Len mountain to dig a long canal so that they would get enough water supply to use in their controlled region. And, in the meantime, they aimed to cut off road, destroyed airport, and conquered the Siem Reap province.
កាលពីថ្ងៃ១៧-សីហា-១៩៧៣ ខ្មែរឧទ្ទាមបានកេណ្ឌប្រជាពលរដ្ឋនៅម្ដុំភ្នំ គូលែន ឱ្យជីកប្រឡាយទឹកយ៉ាងវែងដើម្បីយកទឹកពីភ្នំមកប្រើប្រាស់ នៅតំបន់វាកាន់កាប់ពិសេសខ្មាំងមានគោលបំណងវាយកាត់ផ្ដាច់ ផ្លូវដឹកនាំនិងចំណតយន្ដហោះហើយនឹងវាយយកក្រុងសៀមរាប ទាំងមូលតែម្ដង។
