Tung Nhor was arrested on February 1974 by national soldiers in Takeo sub-region military operation on a battlefield in Tumnob village, Cheung Chab sub-district, Treang district, Takeo province.
He confessed that he left school in 1972, living with parents. In 1974, he was forced to be a combatant in Platoon 1, Battalion 13. He was seriously wounded in a battlefield that he was arrested. ឈ្មោះ ទុង ញ៉ ត្រូវកងទ័ពជាតិផ្នែកសឹករងតាកែវចាប់ខ្លួនបានកាលពី ថ្ងៃទី ខែកុម្ភៈ ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៤ នៅលើលានប្រយុទ្ធភូមិទំនប់ សង្កាត់ចាប ស្រុកទ្រាំង ខេត្ដតាកែវ។ ប្រភពបានសារភាពថាខ្លួនបានឈប់រៀន នៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧២ ហើយជួយធ្វើការ«ពុកម្ដាយរហូតមកដល់ខែមករា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៤ ប្រភពត្រូវបានពួកខ្មាំងបញ្ចូលឱ្យធ្វើទាហាននៅកងអនុសេ នាតូចទី១ នៃវរសេនាតូច១៣។ ដោយប្រភពត្រូវរបួសធ្ងន់ទើបបាន ជាត្រូវចាប់ខ្លួនបានដូចេ្នះ។
