According to the source, Proeun was company commander of battalion 112. That battalion's base was in the edge of Snav mountain, Morng district, Battambang province. Inhabitants were gathered around every evening and progagandized that there were thousands of troop from Kampong Thom, Kampong Chhnang and Pursat, came to Mong district.
តាមប្រភពបានផ្ដល់អោយដឹងថាៈ ឈ្មោះ ព្រឿន ជាមេបញ្ជាការនៃ កងអនុសេនាធំរបស់ខ្មែរឧទ្ទាម សិ្ថតនៅក្រោមកងវរសេនាតូច១១២ ដែលមានទីតាំងនៅជើងភ្នំស្នាវ ស្រុកមោង ខេត្ដបាត់ដំបង តែងតែ មកប្រមូលប្រជាជនរៀងរាល់ល្ងាច ហើយបានឃោសនាថាៈ មានកង ទ័ពច្រើនមកពីកំពង់ធំ, កំពង់ឆ្នាំង និងពោធិ៍សាត់ ដើម្បីវាយយក ស្រុកមោងនេះ។
