On 7 september 1973, khmer rebels started a military training center in Kampong Svay village, Kampong Svay district, Kampong Thom province. Only the inhabitant of Kampong Svay district, who was above 14, were allowed to be trained in that centre. After they were trained, they would be sent to pratice in Kampong Cham province and to fight with defensive post in Prey Koy, east of Kampong Thom.
កាលពីថ្ងៃទី០៧ ខែកញ្ញា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៣ ខ្មែរឧទ្ទាមបានបើកសាលា បង្រៀនក្ឃួនយុទ្ធសាស្ដ្រមួយនៅក្នុងភូមិកំពង់ស្វាយ ស្រុកកំពង់ស្វាយ ខេត្ដកំពង់ធំ។ អ្នកដែលបានមករៀន គឺពួកខ្មាំងជ្រើសរើសតែអ្នកស្រុក នៅកំពង់ស្វាយនេះទេ គឺមានអាយុពី១៤ឆ្នាំឡើងទៅ។ ក្រោយពីរៀនចប់ខ្មាំងនឹងបញ្ជូនសិស្សទាំងនោះទៅតំបន់ប្រតិបតិ្ដការនៅក្នុងខេត្ដកំពង់ចាមនិងមួយផ្នែកទៀតទៅវាយប្រហារប៉ុស្ដិ៍ការពារជាតិនៅព្រៃគយ សិ្ថតនៅខាងកើតកំពង់ធំ។
