Ieng Loem was arrested on April 18, 1974 in the capital city of Phnom Penh by information research group (BDR). He was a member of the sabortage group of 5 people including: Kem, Khoeun, Sao, Sorin, Vuth alais Sang Sokhon and Kem Net. Ieng Loem launched activities such as using grenades in Phnom Penh on the national police headquater of Tuol Svayprey, launched B-40 rocket and M-79 into the mansion of general Sosten and also into other places. He had a brand Honda 90 motorbike as a means of operating activities. Further more, he was also involved in shelling 60mm mortars from Tik La-ak into Phnom Penh, mainly into Sosten's mansion.
អៀង ឡឹម ត្រូវបានចាប់ខ្លួននៅថ្ងៃ១៨ មេសា ១៩៧៤នៅទីក្រុងភ្នំ ពេញដោយក្រុមស្រាវជ្រាវព័ត៌មាន បេ ឌី អ៊ែ។ ជននេះជាសមាជិក ក្នុងក្រុមវិចេ្ឆទកម្មដែលមានគ្នា៥នាក់គឺៈ កែម, ឃឿន, សៅ, សូរិន, វុធ ហៅ សង សុខុម និង កែម ណែត។ អៀង ឡឹម មានតួនាទី ធ្វើសកម្មភាពគប់គ្រាប់បែកនៅក្នុងទីក្រុងភ្នំពេញដូចជានៅស្នងការដ្ឋាន នគរបាលជាតិទួលស្វាយព្រៃ បាញ់បេ-៤០ និង អ៊ឹម-៧៩ ចូលក្នុងភូមិគ្រិះឧត្ដមសេនីយឯក សុស្ដែន ព្រមទាំងកន្លែងមួយចំនួន ទៀតមធ្យោបាយក្នុងការធ្វើសកម្មភាពគឺ ម៉ូតូហុងដាធុន៩០។ ម្យ៉ាង ទៀតជននេះបានចូលរួមក្នុងការបាញ់ផ្លោងកាំភ្លើងត្បាល់ធុន៦០មម ពីទឹកល្អក់សំដៅចូលក្នុងក្រុងភ្នំពេញទៀតផង ជាពិសេសចូលផ្ទះឧត្ដម សេនិយ៍ឯក សុស្ដែន។
