A source said that on July 10, 1973, about 1000 Khmer rebels retreated from Kampot town to stay temporarily at Thnol Bot at VS315-899 in Lboek sub-district, Chhouk district and then they travelled on to Phnom Penh city. On July 24, 1973, 1 unit of Khmer rebels departed from Chhouk district to deploy in Kampong Nong village, Kampong Nong sub-district, Kep district, Kampot province in order to replace the soldiers who retreated from Phnom Penh city.
ប្រភពផ្ដល់មកថា កាលពីថ្ងៃ ១០ កក្កដា ១៩៧៣ ខ្មែរឧទ្ទាមប្រមាណ ១០០០នាក់ បានដកចេញពីក្រុងកំពត ទៅស្នាក់នៅបណ្ដោះអាសន្ន នៅថ្នល់បត់ ត្រង់វ៉េអេស៣១៥-៨៩៩ ក្នុងឃុំល្បើក ស្រុកឈូក រួចបន្ដដំណើរទៅភ្នំពេញ។ កាលពី២៤ ខែកក្កដា ១៩៧៣ ខ្មែរឧទ្ទាម មួយកងឯកភាពបានចេញពីឈូក ដើម្បីមករាយគ្នាក្នុងភូមិកំពង់នង់ ឃុំកំពង់នង់ ស្រុកកែប ខេត្ដកំពត ដើម្បីជំនួសទ័ពដែលដកមកភ្នំពេញ។
