The countryside was in a state of total mobilization. Masses of workers, 20,000 to 25,000 at a place, could be seen digging irrigation and building dams. Refugees say that few schools had reopened. They told of mass executions and other reprisals against officials and soldiers of former regime.
ទីជនបទ គឺក្រោយយោធាបនីយកម្មទាំងស្រុង។ ចំនួនកម្មករទ្រង់ទ្រាយធំ ពី ២០០០០ ទៅ ២៥០០០នាក់ ក្នុងមួយកន្លែង ដែលធ្វើកាជីកប្រព័ន្ធធរាសាស្រÒ និង សាងសង់ទំនប់ទឹក។ ជនភៀសខ្លួននិយាយថា មានសាលាពីរបីសាលា បានបើកឡើងវិញ។ ពួកគេបានប្រាប់ពីកាវាយប្រហាជីវិតទ្រង់ទ្រាយធំ និងកាផ្ចាញ់តប មន្រÒី និងទាហានពីរបបមុន។
