The conference revealed not only a new level of tension between ASEAN and China but a new US also played a role in the triangular relationship with ASEAN and China as well. The issues fought over in New York would surely come back to haunt the coalition's effort to get the Vietnamese out of Kampuchea.
សន្និសីទនេះមិនត្រឹមតែបង្ហាញឱ្យឃើញពីកម្រិតថ្មីនៃភាពតានតឹងរវាង សហគមន៍អាស៊ាននិងប្រទេសចិនប៉ុណ្ណោះទេ តែបានបង្ហាញពីការលេចឡើង នូវសហរដ្ឋអាមេរិកថ្មី ហើយបានដើរតួនៅក្នុងចំណងសម្ព័ន្ធមិត្ដត្រីភាគី ជាមួយនឹងអាស៊ាន រួមនឹងប្រទេសចិនផងដែរ។ បញ្ហានេះក៏បានជះឥទ្ធិពល នៅក្នុងទីក្រុងញ៉ូវយ៉ក ហើយប្រាកដណាស់នឹងត្រឡប់ទៅលងបន្លាចនូវ សេចក្ដីខិតខំប្រឹងប្រែងរបស់ក្រុមចម្រុះ ដែលមានបំណងចង់បណ្ដោញក្រុម វៀតណាមឱ្យចេញផុតពីកម្ពុជា។
