Prince Norodom Sihanouk said that the United States had invited him to return to Phnom Penh to take power but that he had refused. The proposal had been made in an official US note brought to him by George Bush in Peking. He advised US to evacuate without delay their embassy civilian and military personal.
សមេ្ដចនរោត្ដម សីហនុ បាននិយាយថា សហរដ្ឋអាមេរិកបានអព្ជោីញសីហនុ ឱ្យត្រឡប់មកក្រុងភ្នំពេញវិញ ដើម្បីឡើងកាន់អំណាចសារជាថ្មី ប៉ុន្ដែលោកបានបដិសេធ។ សំណើរត្រូវបានធ្វើឡើងជាឯកសសារផ្លូវការនៃរដ្ឋបាលសហរដ្ឋអាមេរិកបានផេ£ីទៅជូន សីហនុ ដោយរដ្ឋបាលលោកប្រធានាធិបតី ច៉ក ប៊ុស ក្នុងទីក្រុងប៉េកាំង។ សីហនុ បានណែនាំសហរដ្ឋអាមេរិកឱ្យធ្វើការដកមន្ដ្រីស៊ីវិលស្ថានទូត និង យោធាដោយគ្មានការពន្យាពេលណាមួយឡើយ។
