Sary Khauv was born in 1943 in Phnom Penh. Before April 1975, he was a teacher of a high school in Battambang city. During DK regime, his family was forced to a remote village in Battambang. He worked in ricefield, jungle, and in commune as cook.
សារី ខូវ កើតនៅឆ្នាំ១៩៤៣ នៅទីក្រុងភ្នំពេញ។ មុនពេលឆ្នាំ១៩៧៥ ខូវ គឺជាគ្រូបង្រៀននៅវិទ្យាល័យក្រុងបាត់ដំបង។ អំឡុងពេលរបបកម្ពុជា ប្រជាធិបតេយ្យគ្រួសាររបស់ ខូវ បានបង្ខំឱ្យផ្លាស់ទៅភូមិមួយនៃបាត់ ដំបង។ គាត់ត្រូវបង្ខំឱ្យធ្វើការនៅក្នុងស្រែ ក្នុងព្រៃ នៅឃុំធ្វើជាអ្នកដាំ ស្ល។
