James Baker assured that the Administration shared fully Mark's concern regarding the Khmer Rouge. While US continued to insist that Vietnam must unconditionally withdraw all of its troops from Cambodia, US also declared consistently its unalterable opposition to a return to power of the Khmer Rouge.
រដ្ឋលេខាធិការ ជេម ប៉េកឃើ អះអាងថាផ្នែកគ្រប់គ្រងរដ្ឋបាលបានផ្សព្វ ផ្សាយអំពីការយល់ឃើញរបស់ ម៉ាក ទាំងស្រុងទៅលើខ្មែរក្រហម ខណៈពេលដែលសហរដ្ឋអាមេរិកបន្ដធ្វើការទទូចថា វៀតណាមត្រូវតែកងទ័ព ចេញឱ្យអស់ពីកម្ពុជា ដោយឥតលក្ខខណ្ឌ ហើយសហរដ្ឋអាមេរិកក៏ប្រកាស យ៉ាងមុតមាំថាខ្លួននឹងមិនកែប្រែពីការជំទាស់អំពីការវិលត្រឡប់មកកាន់ អំណាចវិញរបស់ខ្មែរក្រហម។
