The new government of Cambodia stressed its strong ties with China and thanked North Vietnam and North Korea for their support in defeating the US imperialists. The Phnom Penh radio said, "the victory of the Cambodian people is the same as the victory of the Chinese".
រដ្ឋាភិបាលថ្មីរបស់កម្ពុជា បានបព្ជាក់ពីចំណងមិត្ដភាពជាមួយនឹង ប្រទេសចិន និង បានថ្លែងអំណរគុណដល់ប្រទេសកូរ៉េខាងជើង វៀតណាមខាងជើង សម្រាប់ការគាំទ្រក្នុងប្រតិបត្ដិការយកឈ្នះលើពួកចក្រពត្ដិសហរដ្ឋអាមេរិក។ វិទ្យុក្រុងភ្នំពេញបានផ្សាយថា ឪជ័យជំនះរបស់ប្រជាជនកម្ពុជា គឺក៏ដូចជាជ័យជំនះរបស់ប្រជាជនចិនដែរ។
