Over one million Cambodians were dead since the communist regime came to power in 1975. Most of them died of exhausion, starvation and execution. It was a regime characterized by mass relocations of the population, forced labor in agricultural collectives, and a complete break with traditions and family relations.
ប្រជាជនកម"ុជាជាង១លាននាក់ត្រូវបានស្លាប់ចាប់តាំងពីរបបកុម្មុយនិសÒឡើងកាន់អំណាចនៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧៥។ ភាគច្រើនគឺត្រូវបានស្លាប់ដោយសារការនឿយហត់ជ្រុល កាអត់ឃ្លាន និងកាប្រហារជីវិត។ វាគឺជារបបមយយដែលធ្វើឡើងដោយការបÒូរទីតាំងប្រជាជនទ្រង់ទ្រាយធំ បង្ខំកម្លាំងធ្វើការរួមក្នុងវិស័យកសិកម្ម និងប្រឆាំងទាំងស្រុងនូវទំនាក់ទំនងគ្រួសារ និងប្រពៃណី។
