The embarrasing tension between the Cambodian Head of State, Prince Norodom Sihanouk, and the communist revolutionaries appeared to have been temporarily relieved. The Prince agreed to remain a figure head in return for assurances that he would still represent his country on the international stage.
ភាពតានតឹងរវាងប្រមុខរដ្ឋកម្ពុជាគឺ សមេ្ដច នរោត្ដម សីហនុ និងបដិវត្ដន៍កុម្មនិស្ដហាក់ដូចជាបានធូរស្រាលជាបណ្ដោះអាសន្ន។ សីហនុ បានយល់ព្រមរក្សាទុកតំណែង ក្នុងការត្រឡប់មកវិញសម្រាប់ធានាថា សីហនុ នឹងនៅបន្ដជាតំណាងប្រទេសរបស់លោកលើឆាកអន្ដរជាតិ។
