During 12 months since DK came to power, an increasing number of reports from refugees had been published in the international press. There were widespread execution. A number of these testimonies seemed to be based on the belief, rather than evidence, that people who had disappeared from the village or other places of work had been taken away by the army to be executed.
ក្នុងអំឡុងពេល ១២ខែ ចាប់ពីពួកខ្មែរក្រហម មកកាន់អំណាច ចំនួនរបាយការណ៍ កើនឡើងដែលបានមកពីជនភៀសខ្លួនបានចេញផ្សាយនៅសារព័ត៌មានអន្ដរជាតិ។ មានប្រតិបត្ដិការជាសកល។ ចម្លើយកសិណសាក្សីមួយចំនួនហាក់ដូចជាផ្អែកទៅលើជំនឿជាជាងភស្ដុតាង ប្រជាជនដែលបានបាត់ខ្លួនឯងពីក្នុងភូមិ ឬពីកន្លែងការងារនានា ដោយកងទ័ពយកទៅប្រហារជីវិត(សម្លាប់ចោល)។
