It was time for Americans to accept that, despite the agony of the Vietnam experience, life in Indochina went on after the fall of Saigon. For policy makers, the national pre-occupation with the trauma of an involvement should not preclude thoughtful consideration of a new relationship with the three Indochinese countries, particularly Vietnam.
