Because of the increased controls by the Khmer Rouge soldier, the flow of escapees had dried up dramatically. According to U.N High Commissioner for refugees in Bangkok, no more than 25 Cambodians a week had crossed into Thailand.
ដោយសារមានការកើតឡើងនូវការគ្រប់គ្រង និងត្រួតពិនិត្យដោយ យោធាខ្មែរក្រហមលំហូរនៃជនភៀសខ្លួន&ៈ៨២០៣់បានធ្វើឱ្យមានសោកនាកម្ម។ គណៈកម្មាធិការជាន់ខ្ពស់របស់អង្គការសហប្រជាជាតិសម្រាប់ជនភៀសខ្លួន ក្នុងទីក្រុងបាងកក ក្នុងមួយសប្ដាហ៍មិនលើសពី២៥នាក់នៃប្រទេសកម្ពុជា បានឆ្លងកាត់ព្រំដែនចូលទៅកាន់ទឹកដីប្រទេសថៃ។
