Disease and malnutrition combined with a dropping birthrate were taking a greater toll of Cambodia's population than comminist execution. There assements represented a major reversal in western judgement of what had gone in inside Democratic Kampuchea.
ជម្ងឺ និង ការស្រែកឃ្លានអត់អាហារបានរួមគ្នាជាមួយគ្នាជាមួយនឹងការធ្លាក់ចុះនូវអាត្រាបង្កកំណើតបានធ្វើឱ្យចំនួនប្រជាជនកម្ពុជាកាន់តែហោចទៅៗបន្ទាប់ពីមានការប្រហារជីវិតតាមបែបកុម្មុយនិស្ដ។ មានការវាយតម្លៃបង្ហាញពីការប្រែប្រួលធំមួយក្នុងតុលាកាវិនិច្ឆ័យនៃប្រទេសលោកខាងលិចពីរឿងរ៉ាវទាក់ទងនឹងអ្វីដែលបានកើតមាននៅក្នុងប្រទេសកម្ពុជាប្រជាធិបតេយ្យ។
