Since World War II, the recent struggle in Indochina was the third one. It was a complex conflict with some actors on stage and others off in the wings. On its surface, it arose initially from a struggle between Vietnam and the Khmer Rouge.
ចាប់តាំពីសង្គ្រាមលោកលើកទី២មក ដំណាក់កាលដែលស្វឹកស្វាញជាងគេនៃ ជម្លោះនៅឥណ្ឌូចិន គឺជាជម្លោះលើកទី៣នេះផង។ ជម្លោះម្ដងនេះគឺជា ជម្លោះដែលមានភាពស្មុគស្មាញជាមួយនឹងតួអង្គមួយចំនួននៅលើឆាក ប្រយុទ្ធនិង មួយចំនួនទៀតដែលនៅពីក្រោយខ្នង។ នៅលើផ្ទៃខាងមុខនៃ សង្គ្រាមគឺត្រូវបានកើតឡើងដោយសារការប្រឆាំងតស៊ូរវាងក្រុម វៀតណាម និងក្រុមខ្មែក្រហម។
