Prince Norodom Sihanouk, who led Cambodia for nearly three decades as king, Premier and Chief of State, returned to his royal palace in Phnom Penh from five and a half years of exile. There was no indication what role the popular leader would play in the new government.
ព្រះបាទនរោត្ដ សីហនុ ដែលជាមេដឹកនាំកម្ពុជាជិត ៣ទសវត្សរ៍មកហើយនោះក្នុងតំណែងជា មហាក្សត្រផង នាយករដ្ឋមន្ដ្រីផង និង ជាប្រមុខរដ្ឋផងដែរនោះ បានវិលត្រឡប់មកកាន់ព្រះរាជវាំងនៅក្រុងភ្នំពេញវិញ គឺតាំងពីពេលដែលព្រះអង្គបានចាកចោលអស់រយៈពេល៥ឆ្នាំកន្លះ។ គ្មានការចង្អុលបង្ហាញថា អ្នកដឹកនាំដែលមានប្រជាប្រិយភាពអាចមានមុខងារនៅក្នុងរដ្ឋាភិបាលថ្មីទេ។
