Killing:
In late 1977, a Khmer Rouge security police named Yeun took my uncle, Nip Nuon, who lived in Krasaing Kha Village, and killed him at Srange Village, Trapeang Russie Commune, Kampong Svay District, Kampong Thom Province. At first, he was accused of committing a moral offense. Later, they accused him of burning the paddy fields and then they killed him. At the time, I did not witness the killing at Trapeang Krom Kaun Kha-ek field. Two combatants killed him. |

In late 1975, Tren, the cooperative chief, assigned me to carry earth at the 5 January Dam in Santuk District. After working there for four months, I returned to Krasaing Kha Village. Later, they sent me to work on building the 6 January Dam. After working there for three months, I returned home. My wife was assigned to transplant rice seedlings in Krasaing Kha Village. My children were forced to collect cow dung in a children’s unit. My family was separated from late 1975 to 1977. I do not know why they made us work in different places. Starvation: My father-in-law died from malnutrition in 1977. At the time, he lived with me in Krasaing Kha Village, Sann Kor Commune. The chief who was in charge of the village was Tren, and the commune chief was Chakk. My father-in-law died from malnutrition and overwork. My brother-in-law also died from starvation in Krasaing Kha Village. He died from malnutrition because he didn’t have the strength to work and the cooperative chief cut his ration. |
