when the Special Zone was abolished in the mddle of 1975, its leaders, Vorn Vet and Son Sen, "moved their headquarters to Phnom Penh" and brought with them Non Suon (BK, PPR, p. 94) ~ After the Vietnamese pullback of January 6, 1978, Pol Pot went to the Eastern Zone. At a public meeting at Wat Taung, he announced that each "Cambodian is to kill thirty Vietnamese, in order to move forward to liberate, to fight strongly in order to win southern Vietnam back." He urged DK forces to encourage the Khmer Krom to rise up in rebellion. Son Sen also presided (BK, PPR, p. 387) ~ At April 11, 1977 meeting of the Standing Committee, Son Sen is listed among the members present (BK, PPR, p. 351) ~ removed from the Standing Committee in 1978 (BK, PPR, p. 437) ~ attended special meeting on May 20, 1975 (BK, PPR, p. 57) ~ On September 24, 1977, "elements of the reconstituted 3rd Eastern Zone Division, under the general command of Son Sen, crossed into Tay Ninh Province [Vietnam]and massacred nearly three hundred civilians in five villages of Tan Bien and Ben Cau Districts" (BK, PPR, p. 373)
