Activity Pre 79 :
|
attended meeting in Eastern Zone, at Wat Taung, 1978???? (BK, PPR, 387) ~ joined Issaraks in 1950. Arrested and sentenced to six years in prison, released after three years in Kompong Thom and Phnom Penh prisons (BK, PPR, p. 91) ~ As Central Zone secretary, he led political purges in Cham districts at the end of 1976. Old troops were disbanded and replaced by troops from the Southwest (BK, PPR, p. 278) ~ sought control of the Northern Zone after Koy Thuon's departure in 1975, first by obtaining the appointment of his relatives, and then, after Thuon's final arrest on 25 January 1977, the Zone's leaders were purged and executed (BK, PPR, p. 338-339) ~ when the Northern Zone was changed and renamed the Central Zone, Pauk was its first CPK deputy (BK, PPR, p. 338-339) ~ attended 11 April 1977 meeting of the CPK Standing Committee (BK, PPR, p. 351) ~ In early 1977, a new command structure was established in the East. On Highway 7, "a second new Front Committee was set up, headed by So Phim with Ke Pauk as his deputy" (BK, PPR, p. 369) ~ In May 1978, Pauk purged So Phim and his followers from the Eastern Zone leadership, and destroyed his military base (BK, PPR, p. 395-401)
