Imprisonment:
I never saw people being imprisoned during that time. However, I learned from villagers that people were relocated from village to village because the Khmer Rouge changed their work assignments. I think people who were relocated from the village were imprisoned at Wat Srange security center. Some prisoners were executed, while others survived and are still living today. For example, Ta Suon survived the Wat Srange security center because he never confronted Angkar in the way that Prech, Pres, and Sorn did. The security center had been in existence since 1975. |

In 1976, Angkar ordered Ruy Sok and me to guard the paddy fields at Krasaing, Sann Kor Commune, day and night. In a month, each of us received ten cans of rice to eat. That amount of food was not adequate for us. Guarding the paddy fields was very difficult because the militiamen spied on us every day. Neither of us ever had time to visit our home. Ruy Sok now lives in Krasaing Kha Village. In 1977, I was relocated to grow corn in Preah Kanlang, Chakk Sanday Commune, Kampong Svay District. While I lived there, they always kept an eye on me. I do not recall the commune chief. Starvation: My father and mother died from starvation in 1976. They were both starved because they got sick and could not work for Angkar. Anyone who could not go to work was starved by Angkar. At that time, my parents lived in Krasaing Kha Village, Sann Kor Commune, where Prech was the commune chief. |
