The reports on Cambodia extracted from Daily Report East Asia dated 5 October 1989 as follow: Hun Sen sent greetings to USSR's Ryzhkove, Hun Sen congratulated polish Prime Minister, US communist party greeted on anniversary, Hun Sen chair council of Minister meeting, Tie Banh said resistance offensive repulsed, Sihanouk accused of shielding Khmer Rouge, Khmer Rouge said 80,000 SRV troops remain, Khmer Rouge said to capture "strategic" post, and Khieu Samphan statement stressed DK stance.
