Main Crime Details :

In early 1977, the Khmer Rouge evacuated people from Kok Village to a cooperative in Thma Puok. I do not know who evacuated the people, but the Kok Prech village chief was Kann. I am not certain why they needed to evacuate the village. After the village people left home, the Khmer Rouge forces came into the village.
During the evacuation, the Khmer Rouge informed village people as well as my brother-in-law’s family, consisting of four family members, to collect all their belongings and load them onto the cart. They stated that Angkar wanted everyone to grow cotton at new location. From that day until now, I have never heard anything about his family. There was no one remaining from his family, except one child who had stayed with my parents and remains alive today. I knew that when my brother’s family left their house to go to work, the Khmer Rouge cadres might have checked the house and seen the photo taken during the Lon Nol regime. Based on the photo, my brother was a soldier. |
