Execution:
In late 1975 and early 1976, Prech and Pring, chiefs of Sangkat Sann Kor, accused my uncle, Kung Buon, of killing a cow for food. However, the truth was that the cow died of a natural cause. The arrest took place at my house in Krasaing Kha Village, Sann Kor Commune, Kampong Svay District, Kampong Thom Province. The arrest took place because a cow died from an unknown cause. Chan, my cousin, told me that Pring killed our uncle. Pring covered my uncle’s head with a sack and poured hot water over his head and body. Then my uncle died at Neak Sen Village, Sann Kor Commune, Kampong Svay District, Kampong Thom Province. I am not aware of any other incidents which happened under the regime. |

In January of 1976, a cooperative dining hall was created. Like all people who lived in the village, I was forced to collect the belongings in my house and give all of it to the cooperative. Everyone was forced to eat rice soup—a spoon of rice served to five people. We tried to find more food, such as Sleuk Bas and Sleuk Ngop [kinds of vegetable and edible leaves] to eat. There was no fish, beef, or even salt for our diet. That is the reason my legs became swollen, and there was no medical treatment available. Prech, the male chief of Sangkat Sann Kor, organized the cooperative dining hall. Chan, a male, was Prech’s deputy chief. The cooperative dining hall was located in Krasaing Kha Village, Sann Kor Commune, Kampong Svay District, Kampong Thom Province. During that time I was ordered to collect cow dung and make fertilizer. If we did not complete our assigned tasks, we would not receive our food ration. |
