Homicide:
Under the Lon Nol regime, my second child, Ma Kong, was ordained as a monk at Thlong Pagoda. When the Khmer Rouge came to power in 1975, Angkar forced him to leave his monkhood. Three days later, Sap, a Khmer Rouge cadre, forced my son out of Chhouk Romduol Village and relocated him to work in Kampong Cham Province. This incident took place in 1975. Half a year after my son left the village, Sap came to inform me that my son had died as a result of a jack falling down and cutting his legs. The incident took place in Kampong Cham Province. I have no idea why my son was separated from me. |

Destruction of possessions:
The Khmer Rouge took away my possessions, including five cows, plates, and pots. They were all collected and stored at a cooperative. They destroyed my house and converted it into a dining hall. This incident took place at Chhouk Rumduol Village, Tipou Commune in approximately 1975. The people who collected my possessions were Angkar upper level cadres whom I do not know. I do not know why they did so. Family separation: Angkar assigned me to work in Chhouk Rumduol Village, transplanting rice seedlings, doing the farming, uprooting trees and growing potatoes. Angkar assigned my husband to search for wood and fish for the cooperative. He had to remain at his work site. Every two months, they allowed him to come and meet me. The separation took place in 1976. I know neither who separated us nor why they separated us. |
