Muol Sarien confessed that in 1970, he was a soldier. At that time, in order to manage plans to conquer the power from communist, all soldiers were persuaded by Nhong Savat to serve as Mike Force soldiers at United State Embassy in Thailand. After the victory in 1975, the Angkar arrested Sarien in Kampot after he left for Thailand.
មូល សារៀន បានឆ្លើយថា ខ្លួនជាទាហាននៅឆ្នាំ ១៩៧០។ ពេល នោះឈ្មោះ ញូង សាវ៉ាត បានអូសទាញទាហានទាំងអស់ឱ្យទៅធ្វើ ទាហានម៉ៃហ្វក នៅស្ថានទូតអាមេរិកក្នុងប្រទេសថៃ ត្រៀមលក្ខណៈ វាយដណ្ដើមយកដ្ឋអំណាចបដិវត្ដពីកុម្មុយនិស្ដវិញ។ លុះក្រោយ រំដោះ ១៩៧៥ សារៀន បានធ្វើដំណើរក្នុងគោលបំណងសំដៅ ទៅប្រទេសថៃ លុះដល់ក្រុងកំពតក៏ត្រូវបានកងទ័ពចាប់តែម្ដងទៅ។
