According to the introduction of Ek Saret, Chao Soeung was a local leading apparatus.
មុំ សាវឿន ហៅ មុនី អនុអនុសេនាធំ កងពល២៩០ បាន និយាយថា ឯក សារ៉េត គ្រាន់តែបានឧទេ្ទសនាមឈ្មោះអ្នកដឹកនាំ ដែលជាបង្អែកក្នុងសកម្មភាពប្រឆាំងបក្សជាច្រើនរូបទាំងនៅមូលដ្ឋាន និងយោធាតែប៉ុណ្ណោះ។ ហើយនៅក្នុងបទឧទេ្ទសនាមនោះក៏មាន ចៅ សឿង ក៏ជាក្បាលម៉ាស៊ីនក្នុងមូលដ្ឋានម្នាក់ដែរ។
