Evacuation:
In 1975, villagers in Chambak Khpuos Village and I were evacuated to Por Phlouk Village. I do not know the reason for this evacuation. Khmer Rouge (four to five security police) evacuated all people out of Chambak Khpuos Village. During the evacuation, people took with them only a few bags of clothes and there was no confrontation on the part of the villagers. In the village, I ate with my family. However, after the evacuation, there was collective eating only. Those evacuated were Nuon Tean (deceased); Ok Moeng (deceased; Kakk Yann (deceased); Loch San, female; Sun Kuon, male; Chheng Chhou, male; Pum Sai, female; Ty Yoeun, female; Lim Thao (deceased); Ty Kakk, male; It Ny, female; Sim An (deceased); Thim Lean, female; Phoun Pech (deceased); Thi Lang (deceased); Ham Sambath (male); It Nang (deceased); Non Not (male); Seng Then (deceased); Sea Lai (male); Pum Nim (deceased); Pum Tam (deceased); Not Ton (deceased); and many other families living in Chambak Khpuos. Currently, these people still live in Chambbakk Khpuos Village. |

Starvation:
In 1977-1978, I was starved in Por Phlouk Village. Only one spoonful of rice was provided for two to three people. As a result of malnutrition, everyone became very skinny and their heads appeared oversized. Some village people who suffered from malnutrition starved to death. Pech Long, a female, died from starvation. At that time, the cooperative did not provide enough food for people to eat. Vong, the cooperative chief, ordered the starvation which resulted because people were only given gruel with one spoonful of rice to feed three people.. Meals took place at eleven a.m. and five p.m. Because there was not enough food to eat, most people in the village stole food, such as stripping rice grains. I do not remember their names because there were very many people who did this. I do not know the reason for the starvation. Execution: Most people (countless and whose names I do not remember) were taken to be executed at Tuol Puong High School in Stong District (now Raksmey Sophoan High School) between 1976 and 1978. The killing took place every year. I do not know how the killing took place or who the executioners were. I was aware of the killings because I knew that most of the people who disappeared from the village never returned. A majority of people were called upon to grow potatoes. A group of people in the village, whose names I do not know, ordered others to grow potatoes. |
