Thach Soeun (age 32, married to Kim Ly), a resident of Toap Hva Village, Cau Ngang District, Tra Vinh Province (Vietnam), entered Cambodia in 1966 and was first ordained as a monk in Phnom Penh. After he stopped being a monk, he worked as a businessman in Kampong Cham Province. He became a member of the army in 1970 and attained the rank of First Lieutenant. After April 17, 1975, he served at Unit 109 and transferred to Pho Dus in Kampong Thom Commune. During his stay at Pho Dus, he met another Khmer Krom named Khim Vut Sang, and together, they formed a military team and planned to revolt against Cambodia.
ថាច់ សឿន អាយុ៣២ឆ្នាំ ប្រពន្ឋឈ្មោះ គីម លី នៅភូមីទោបហា្វ ស្រុកកុវង៉ាង ខេត្តព្រះត្រពាំង មកពីស្រុកយួន ឆ្នាំ១៩៦៦ បានបួសជាសង្ឃនៅភ្នំពេញ។ សឹកវីញមករកស៊ីនៅ ខរត្តកំពង់ចាម។ ឆ្នាំ១៩៧០ បានចូលធ្វើទាហាន ពាក់សក្តិ១។ ក្រោយ ១៧ មេសា បានចេញទៅនៅ ១០៩បន្ទាប់មក បានដកឱ្យមកនៅ ពោធ៍ដុះ ឃុំកំពង់ធំ។ នៅពោធី៍ដុះ កាត់បាន ជួបជាមួយឈ្មោះ ឃឹម វុឹត សំាង ជាខ្មែរក្រោមដូចគ្នាបានរៀបកងទ័ព ផែកការក្បត់ ដើម្បីវ៉ៃ លុកចូលមក ប្រទេសកម្ពុជាវីញ។
