Yuos Chhit aka Chum, commissioner of battalion 232, regiment 23, division 290, confessed that in 1970, Chea San, deputy chief of battalion 233, division 290, was convinced to join the Free Khmer movement by Pen Sopheap. Chea San was assigned to get in touch with Leng, cadre of division 290 political affairs by Pen Sopheap. Chea San had frequently received the plot from Leng. Yuos Chhit didn't clearly mention about Chea San's activities. The confession of Nhem Samngatt, secretary of regiment 23, division 290.
យស់ ឈិត ហៅ ជុំ ស្នងការវរសេនាតូច ២៣២ វរសេនាធំ ២៣ កងពល ២៩០ បានឆ្លើយថា ជា សាន អនុយោធាវរសេនាតូច ២៣៣ កងពល ២៩០ ចូលខ្មែរសេរីនៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧០ ដែលមាន ឈ្មោះ ប៉ែន សុភាព ជាអ្នកបញ្ចូល។ ក្រោយមក ប៉ែន សុភាព ឱ្យ ជា សាន មកភ្ជាប់ការទាក់ទងជាមួយ ឡេង កម្មាភិបាលក្រសួង នយោបាយកងពល ២៩០។ ជា សាន ធ្លាប់បានចូលប្រជុំទទួល ផែនការក្បត់ញឹកញាប់ពីឈ្មោះ ឡេង រីឯសកម្មភាពជាក់ស្ដែង យស់ ឈិត មិនបានបញ្ជាក់លំអិតទេ។ ចម្លើយឈ្មោះ ញ៉ែ សម្ងាត់ លេខាវរសេនាធំលេខ ២៣ កងពល ២៩០។
