Choeung Ek Sub-District was transformed into a genocide site during the DK regime. 8,000 corpses were dug up from 85 pits and 44 others are empty as they did not have enough time to fill them up.
ឃុំជើងឯក បានក្លាយទៅជាកន្លែងប្រល័យពូជសាសន៍ក្នុងអំឡុងពេល របបកម្ពុជាប្រជាធិបតេយ្យ។ សាកសព៨,០០០នាក់ បានជីកយក ចេញពីរណ្ដៅ៨៥កន្លែង និង ៤៤កន្លែងផេ្សងទៀតមិនមានអ្វីទាំងអស់ ដូចជា ពួកគេមិនមានពេលគ្រប់គ្រាន់ដើម្បីលុបបំបាត់វា។
