Um Ream joined Pol Pot revolution in 1971 and he committed traitorous acts by encouraging people to hate Angkar and persuaded people to join the Labor Party in order to support Vietnam and in return, destroyed Pol Pot revolutionary forces and killed people so that people did not believe in Angkar. In 1977 Angkar arrested him.
អ៊ំុ រៀម បានចួលរួមជាមួយបដិវត្ដន៍ ប៉ុល ពត នៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧១ ហើយគាត់បានធ្វើសកម្មភាពក្បត់ដោយលើកទឹកចិត្ដប្រជាជនឱ្យស្អប់នឹង អង្គការ និង បញ្ចុះបញ្ចូលប្រជាជនឱ្យចូលជាបក្សពលករ ដើម្បីគាំទ្រ វៀតណាម និងការវិលត្រឡប់មកវិញ, បំផ្លាងបដិវត្ដន៍ ប៉ុល ពត និង សម្លាប់ប្រជាជន ដែលជាហេតុធ្វើឱ្យប្រជាជនមិនជឿជាក់លើអង្គការ។ នៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧៧ អង្គការបានចាប់ខ្លួនគាត់។
